Nekos are a strange non-human race in the sense that they cannot hide their bodies from other humans - therefore, their non-human features are always visible to others. The easiest way to identify a Neko is by their ears - which are catlike and rest on top of their head, as well as a long, feline tail (the fur on both of them matches their hair colour, which can literally come in any colour of the rainbow. Their nails also grow into a fine point, which they often need to file down (they rarely claw furniture to do this, only if there are no files around, Nekos typically carry between 2-3 files at all times anyways)
Generally, they'll hide their features as best they can. Their ears can be hidden easy enough by hats, and their tails can either be slid down their pant legs or up the back of their shirts. Their hair however, cannot be hidden, so they simply may make claims about it being their favourite style.
Nekos are many, many times more flexible than humans, and also have a more acute sense of awareness of their surroundings. Some say they even have perfected their 'sixth sense' in order to avoid sticky situations.
Nekos don't loathe water (they have to wash themselves sometimes don't they?) but they certainly dislike the feeling of it, seieng as it takes a while to dry out their tails (this may also be from their feline heritage).
Nekos are curious critters, often sticking their noses into business that may not concern them. They are also rather mischieveous, and also have a slight catnip weakness, as well as an affinity for chasing after string, small prey, and cat toys.
The easiest way to spot a Neko in a crowd? toss a fake mouse into it - The Neko will be the one pawing at the toy.
