Matt smiled as Tristan told about his family. It sounded like a regular, protective family. Matt envied any type of family that was together and happy. "You really want to hear about my family... well," Matt took in a deep breath of air. "I never really had a regular, happy family life. I never knew my parents. They left me and my brother when we were very young. My brother Michael, tells me, that what he knew of then, was that they were very nice people. To this day, we still don't know why they left us to grow up by ourselves." Matt smiled. "But, that didn't stop us from becoming great siblings. Micheal basically raised me, and we both looked after each other, everyday."
Matt looked around once they passed the tracks. He never really looked at the houses and scenery over on this side. "Anyway, we grew up and time went on. I'm twenty one on and Michale is now twenty four. Michael also has a wife named Marylin and they have a kid named Christopher. He's a good nephew. He's one now and he looks just like his dad." Matt sighed. He really missed them. They were the only family he knew. "Well, anyway. That's really all to tell about my family. Except for my family life mow. It's not technically a real family, but I live with them so,"
Matt sighed as they got onto Tristan's street. "I live with my boyfriend, Nyx. He's the main reason why I'm still here." A deep rogue appeared on his cheeks. "Nyx is the most lovely person I've ever met." Matt shook his head. "Uh, sorry. Anyway. I live with Nyx and his twin brother Lucifer. But they are totally different. We get along fine, and I think that's it." Matt stopped when Tristan stopped at his house. "I think it's a nice house. And I would love to meet your parents. As long as they don't mind meeting a twenty-one year old who's spirit is actually one thousand, five hundred and sixty-two years. Who has also made friends with their son!" Matt laughed.

Tristan was sure his parents would love to meet Matt. He knew that they accept anyone of there own race so he was not worried at all. " My parents will like you, as long as you are not a Werewolf they will be fine" Suddenly Tristan grabbed Matt's arm and pulled him into a bush. "SHH, it's Chris." Tristan whispered in a panicked voice "He wants to kill me!" Tristan realized he souled explain the who story to Matt.
" Me and Chris used to be friends, we played together every day but.... well lets just say some really bad stuff happened and we broke apart." Tristan was trying to fugue out how to word the story. "Chris was raised on different principles than me. He was taught to fight for what you want and kill anyone in your way. His dad wanted to be the best Kisune around so he tried to kill my Dad but he was defeated and humiliated. My dad would not kill him so now Chris is out for blood. He wants to teach my da a lesson so he thinks that if he kills me my dad will be humilliated like his dad was." Tirstan finished and stuck his head out of the bush. "He's gone." He said to Matt as he clamered out of the bush "Sorry about that."
"Well, this is home." Tristan looked over his house. It was not really big. It had a main section and them and little room that looked like it had been added on resently. "The new section is my room, my dad and me built it." Just then two figures steped out onto the front porch. One looked rather cross and the other looked relived to see the boys. "Those are my folks. The cross one is my dad and the shorter one is my mom." Tristan tried to smile at his dad although he knew he was in trouble, "Hey guys.....Look, I am really sorry I am late but I met a new friend and he came to say hi, This is my new friend Matt, Matt, these are my parents."

Matt's heart was beating fast, so fast it skipped quite a few beats, just to keep up with itself. Tristan was making Matt himself afraid. This Chris guy sounded like a pretty nasty character. Matt had never heard of a Kisune that wanted dominance or power over others. Kisune usually just went around giving good luck or taking it from people they didn't like. The main purpose of a Kisune was really to live their life, really nothing else. Matt peered through the leaves to try and get a good look at the boy, but it was hopeless. What Matt did see was only the boy's shoes, and then he left. Matt sighed. He wasn't sure if it was a sigh of relief or a sigh of disappointment.
Matt stepped out fro the twiggy bush and shook his head. Leaves were sticking out all in his hair. Matt shook his head madly and managed to get them out. He looked back up at Tristan and noticed the figures that were his parents. Matt all of a sudden felt really nervous. He never really had formally introduced to someones parents before. Matt bowed deeply. "Yes! I'm Matt."
Matt shot his head back up and tried his best to look Tristan's parents in the eyes. He was now officially dead nervous. He smiled a squiggly smiled and laughed nervously. "I met Tristan today at the..." Matt stopped. He didn't know if Tristan's parents would allow him in the forest if they were as protective as he said. "... the park. Saturn park to be exact." Matt knew that Saturn park was a very populated park and was clean and all, they shouldn't have a problem with him being there.
"We got to talking and both soon found out that were both Kisunes. Small world eh?" Matt laughed again, but this time with more confidence. "He seems a little shaky with his powers, but he has great potential." Matt ruffed Tristan's hair with the Palm of his hand. "And it's nice to finally meet other Kisunes in this town, I didn't know of any others till now."
Matt looked at Tristan's dad then at Tristan. They really didn't look very alike. "But anyway, it's quite the pleasure to meet you!"

Tristan looked at his parents expressions. His father looked indifferent but his mother was beaming.
It is so nice to meet you. Matt right? Tristan has been so lonely lately and having someone to hang with will be great!
Tristan was pleased that his mother was happy but he was still worried abouthis dad. Kane, tristans father was the leader of the pack, he didn't trust anyone who was not part of the family. Some even say he doesn't trust some of the people in the family. Kane looked around the yard and then back at his son. Why are you late? he asked in a growling tone, Your mother was in a fit, He then turned his attention to Matt where did you come from? There are not many tribes of our kind around here. Tristan was getting worried, his father did n0t seem to trust Matt and when his father doesn't trust someone he can be really unpredictable.
Tristan glance around , he was trying to find something to draw his family's attention to. The trees were very still and the wind had died down to nothing, a cool chill ran down Tristans back as he waited for Matt to answer his father. Sudenly tristan blerted out " Can Matt stay for dinner?" he didn't know why he said it or even if Matt wanted to stay but he had to break the silence, itwas killing him.

Matt wasn't liking Tristan's father one bit! He was talking like how he was, 'high and mighty' when he was actually not. The brunette smirked and slid his hand under his chin. He tap his finger against his flesh and let out and airy laugh, "Excuse me sir, if I may correct you but," Matt looked back at Tristan. He didn't know what kind of trouble he could get in by saying this, but he had to. It would go against every bone in his body not to correct him.
"You see," Matt scratched the side of his face and his smirk grew almost a curl. "I'm a scholar, very smart if I may say so. And I have lived for quite a many years, so I have gained plenty of knowledge in that time." Matt crossed his arms over each other, "Most of my knowledge is around the science and mythical department. You know, almost to compare the two to all situations in life."
Matt looked over to Tristan's mom now. He also wondered if this would up set her? "I always like to learn as much about Kisunes as much as I possibly can, so I have vast knowledge on them. For, to learn more about the world, you really need to know about yourself. And learning what you are as well as your history of race, comes in handy."
Matt sighed and stared Tristan's father down again. "And what I've been hearing, since I met Tristan, and hearing what you, yourself have been saying, I just have to correct you..." Matt's voice drawled out as he yawned. "You see... Kisunes, are folk who normally are on their own, they never travel in 'packs', it's just not in their nature." Matt smiled wildly as his hair blew in the breeze. "There are some strange ones who stay as a immediate, blood born family together, but that's the only exception. "
Matt uncrossed his arm and ruffled Tristan's hair. "Another reason why Kisune don't travel in packs is because we don't want to be mistaken for mongrel werewolves. We are more friendlier then them, we are almost higher then them. We are sprits, with powers that humans love. They want to find us, because we are considered good, to be lucky. Wolves are considered scary and a nuisance." Matt smiled again and tapped his foot on the grow, going in time with the beat of his heart. "Now, if there is anything else you would like to tell me so I can correct you, then I would be more then pleased."
Matt looked Tristan's father right in the eyes, Take that ya jack ass! Matt thought to himself proudly. "Oh and I would like to stay for dinner Tristan, if it would be okay if your parents. If not, then oh well!"

Tristans father was dumb founded, he had never had someone speek to him that way in all his life. He turned right around and marched inside. Tristan's mother turned to Matt and said, "Don't mind him, he is just really grumpy. Of couse you can stay for dinner, I hope you like chicken pot pie because it is already in the oven cooking but there is plenty for everyone. Please do come inside and make yourself at home."
Tristan went to follow his mother inside but turn to Matt before hi did. "WOW, I have never been able to stand up to my dad like that, it was amazing. Thank-you so much Matt." Tristan was glad thathis mother was so unlike his father. They were like total opposites and it was strangly funny how they still managed to love eachother. "I am really sorry about my dad, he gets like that sometimes but I think my mother likes you. She is alot nicer that my dad."
Tristan pulled Matt into the house where they were greated again by Tristans mother who had brought out a snack fo the boys. "Mom, you are embarassing me" Muttered Tristan. "OH Poppycock!" Replied his mother I'm sure he would do the same for you. Dinner will not be ready for another 30 minutes. you too have fun now!" Tristan took Matt to his room.
Tristan's room was fairly small but had alot of great stuff in it. He had a twin bed and a big computer desk equipt witha computer. He had a bookshelf full of book. the books look worn, it was easy to tell that they had all been read at least twice. "Well," He asked "What do you think?"

Matt smiled. This must be what average families are like! Fun of food and smiles! The brunette nodded happily and followed Tristan into his house. Matt sniffed the air. Tristan's mother is a really good cook by the smell. The chicken, gravy, carrots and peas he could smell it all!
Matt closed his eyes and his smile grew in size. He didn't know where Tirstan's father diappered off to, but as long as he didn't seak up on him, it was all good! Matt felt so comfortable, he alost let his ears and tails slip out, but he thought against it. He didn't want Tristan's father to see how strong he was. Maybe Matt was even stronger!
The brunette swung his hips from side to side as he followed Tristan up the stairs. A few creaked as he went up and Matt sreuntched up his nose. How much did he weigh? He hoped it wasn't to much since the stairs kinda freaked him out. The Kisune fulffed out his hair as he sat down on Tritan's bed. "Well, it's cozy!" Matt smiled.
He examined the room closer and fell deep into thought. He wondered if this was normal? His visit and the way Tritan's family acted. Well, at least normal for non-human wise. Matt giggled and shuffled around in his seat. "Sooooo, you go to school right?" Matt mentaly slapped himself in the forhead. Of coruse he goes to school! You did!! Matt smiled dummly and continued, "I know you like to read, but what kind of books? Scince like, history, ficaonal stories?"
The brunette stared up at the ceiling and smiled again, "How well does your father know Kisunes anyways? To me, it didn't sound like much." Matt giggled again. He wished he could have recored the moment when he totally showed up Tirstan's father. Throwing logic at him like crazy and winning! Matt's grew again and he tapped his hands in his lap, "I"m reallly looking forward to tonights dinner!"

Tristan couldn't help but smile. It seemed his fathers rudeness had not affected Matt at all. He was glad that Matt liked his home although he really didn't know why it mattered to him. It is just a house and Matt is just a friend but it was really important to him that Matt fewlt comfortable and happy.
" I like all sorts of books, " He answered Matt's question, " I am a big fan of Mythology but I am in love with poetry. I have memmorized lots of poems." I t was tue, he had memorize3d lots of poems and he oftan caugh himslef reciting them. One inparticular came to mind.
Which mask will you show to me? Whitch mask weill I sow to you?
What face will you show me? Is it the reaql you?
Shall I hide behind the safety that the mask will give to me?
Or dare I show you, what is really me?
Will the mask protect me, or will it set me free?
Should I risk that I might hurt you, and dare I go mask free?
What mask do you expect of me, the mask that you can see?
Which mask do you need from me, and how can I still be me?
What then, will you think of me? Can I wear the mask of me?
Tristan giggled slightly, the poem spock so much of what hios life was like. He had to change the subject before he burst out laughing. He turned his attenction to Matt's other question.
"I don't go to school." He told Matt honistly, "My father will not allow it. He says thast the humans wil brainwash me into thinking their way. Anything I learn is from my father and mother." Tristan knew that most of the other Kisune kids and teens went to school but seeing as his father was his packs leader he really couldn't say no to learning from him. " It is seen as an honor to learn from the pack leader but I don't think it is. To me, his is just a father, another Kisune, nothing super special or anything like that."
Tristan didn't want to give off any depressing vibers so he quickloy changed the subject again hoping that Matt would not bring it back up. "I'm glad you are excited for dinner. My mom is a great cook. I think we are having chicken tonight!"

Matt listened to Tristan as he went on about stuff. The brunette almost thought his family was just a little insane. Not letting your kid go to school?! What kind of parents are they? Matt huffed angry air, "You should really be allowed to go to school. There's no brainwashing there, I promise."
"I've gone to school even to university and I can plainly say, I haven't been brainwashed and my knowledge has now become vast." The brunette smiled and leaned back slightly. "You're parents are so strange, if you don't mind me saying."
"I've never really heard of kisunes traveling in packs. It's just not normal..." Matt sighed and rest his head on his hand. He started to wonder if it was really Tristan's father that was brainwashing his. If would make sense. Tristan isn't allowed to go to school, only learn from his father and never go against his father. Sounded pretty scary to Matt.
The brunette Smiled slightly, "I could be your teacher if you wanted. I'm well enough educated that I could be a teacher if I wanted to." The kisune placed a hand on Tristan's shoulder, "We just don't tell your dad about it. Since he'd probably just get angry."
Matt twisted his lips slightly. He felt sick to his stomach that Tristan wasn't given the privilege to learn like everyone else. But, Matt knew that only Tristan could change things. "Ummm, yeah. Chicken sounds good. In fact, I can kinda smell it." Matt looked down at his feet. He really didn't know what to say or do now. Had he made Tristan feel bad? He really hoped not.
"I'm sorry Tristan. I think I over stepped the line between you and your family. Please forgive me."

Tristan didn't know how to express how happy he was about Matt's offer to teach him. He had wanted to go to school for as long as he could remember and now he actually had the chance to.
"You have not over stepped anything Matt." Tristan said, "My father can be a really uptight person sometimes. i would love it if you would teach me"
Tristan offered Matt his hand. "My father doesn't even have to find out." He smiled softly ashe walked toward the door and yelled in to his mom that He hadn't had a guest ina long while and was really lookiing forward to it. It was startin to really sink in, the offer that Matt had made to teach him. Tristan was really nervus but excited at the same time.
"um, Matt" Tristan said shyly, "vI don't know how ood of a student I will be. Untill today, I have never been tought."

The older Kisune smiled and nodded, "I'd be delighted to teach you. But we have to figure out how to figure out how to teach you without your parents knowing." Matt softly touched the floor with his toes and laughed, "Also, there is the subject on which subject to teach you?" The boy laughed at his own really corny joke.
"But seriously, I could teach you science, history, geography or English. I studied them all enough so I'm a loud to teach you them." Still sniffing the air filled with the scent of cooking meat. It reminded him of an old movie. I close family, in a sweet home, making a lovely family meal. Where the scent fills the noses and hearts of the people living in the home. Matt sighed, "But just make sure you really want to me to teach you. I don't want to make your parents kick you out or anything."
Matt laughed awkwardly and patted Tristan on the head, "I've never taught anyone before so we'll both be new to something. Let's just do our best okay?" He said as he continued to patted Tristan's head. To tell the truth, Matt felt a little awkward with the whole situation. Someone was now really depending on him to be strong and be an adult, which Matt had never truly done before.
"Why don't we go help your mother with dinner? We can discuss all this later. But, if your parents get upset because of me and kick me out before we get a good chance to talk, you can find me at Saturn park or at the used book store downtown." The brunette smiled. "But let's hope for the best before we doubt anything eh?"
